JOHN ALLWOOD is the Chief Executive of Mirror Group plc. He is a former
Director of Regional Newspapers, Scotland and Ireland (1998) and Finance
Director (1992-1998) at Mirror Group. Mr. Allwood was the Finance
Director at Hutchinson Microtel, now Orange Plc (1991-1992) and worked
at News International (1980-1991), first in News International
Newspapers, then in Sky Television. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
with Honours in Economics and Statistics from Exeter University (1973)
as well as an ACA (1976) and an FCA (1981). Mr. Allwood's interests
include sports, especially tennis, cricket and rugby. Profile
