C. Warren Goldring – Agf Management Ltd (agf.b)

C. WARREN GOLDRING, Chairman & CEO of AGF Management Ltd., has led a very accomplished life and is a true pioneer in the Canadian mutual fund industry. After graduating from Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute in 1945, Mr. Goldring attended the University of Toronto where he completed a BA in Political Science and Economics. Upon graduation, he moved to Montreal where he worked for Sun Life Assurance Company as an analyst. It was during this time that he met and married his wife Barbara. At this time, Mr. Goldring also won a scholarship to the prestigious London School of Economics. After completing his studies, Mr. Goldring returned to Toronto where he co-founded AGF Management Ltd. in 1957. Today, AGF is one of the largest wealth management companies in Canada with over $1.5 billion in assets. Mr. Goldring's specialty is bond and fixed income investing - he oversees the AGF fixed income team, which pursues a fundamental interest rate and currency anticipation investment style. Mr. Goldring is also a business visionary and pioneer. In 1957, he created the American Growth Fund (from which AGF takes it name) which was the 1st U.S. equity mutual fund available to Canadian investors. In 1973, he launched the 1st Money Market Fund in Canada, and in 1970 he oversaw the launch of the 1st Japanese fund in Canada. Today, at the age of 71, Mr. Goldring is still a leader and visionary in the investment and business community. He travels extensively and just returned from a trip to Asia. In addition to his business accomplishments, Mr. Goldring has served as former President of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts and as a member of the Granite Club, National Club, Empire Club, Rosedale Club, and Ticker Club. Mr. Goldring is also actively involved in many charities and fund raising efforts including the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), the Ontario Arts Council, the University of Toronto, and numerous charities for the underprivileged. On a personal note, Mr. Goldring and his wife Barbara are the proud parents of five children and eight grandchildren. During his leisure time, Mr. Goldring enjoys fishing and golfing. Profile
