WILLIAM 'BILL' WINSPEAR is Chairman, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Associated Materials Incorporated. He received a Bachelor of
Commerce, University of Alberta-1954. Mr. Winspear is a Chartered
Accountant of Alberta, Canada. His activities include: The Dallas
Symphony-Currently Chairman-Sustaining Fund, Member Finance Committee;
1993-1994 Chairman Planning and Policy Committee; 1990-92- Artistic
Development Committee; The Dallas Opera-Currently Secretary and
Chairman-Endowment Committee, 1984-1986-President; University of North
Texas-Board of Visitors and Music Liaison members since 1990; Friends of
Vladimir Viardo, Co-Chairman since 1993; University of North Texas-
Chief Executives Round table; Channel 13- Friends of Channel 13-Founding
Co-Chairman 1982-84; Texas Arts Alliance-President, 1983-85, Chairman,
1985-97; Allegro Dallas (Dallas Civic Music)- President, 1986-90;
Chairman of the Board, 1991-92 and St. Mark's School of Texas-Chairman,
Finance Committee, 1977-78; Chairman, Administrative Committee, 1979-80.
Mr. Winspear received the 1994 James K. Wilson Award for distinguished
service to the arts. He is a life member of the University of North
Texas President's Council and Dallas Opera Sweethearts of the Year. He
earned gold medals for general proficiency-University of Alberta,
economics-University of Alberta, and Institute of Chartered Accountants
