THOMAS E. STANBERRY is the Chairman, President and CEO of West
Bancorporation, Inc.. WTBA is a publicly owned Iowa corporation and bank
holding company headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa that owns and
operates West Bank and WB Capital Management d/b/a/ VMF Capital. Prior
to joining WTBA in 2003, Mr. Stanberry worked with U.S. Bancorp Piper
Jaffray from the fall of 1989 until March 2003 in a variety of
positions, including the president of the fixed income division. From
1979 until joining Piper Jaffray, he was a lawyer with the Des Moines
law firm of Ahlers & Cooney. He is actively involved in the community.
He is the Vice Chairman and a member of the board of the American Red
Cross-Des Moines Chapter, a member of the Greater Des Moines YMCA board
of directors and a member of the board of the Iowa Bankers Association.
He is involved with the United Way and Greater Des Moines Partnership.
He is a 1976 graduate of Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Indiana where
he is a member of the board of trustees, and a 1979 graduate of the
Drake University Law School. Profile
DOUG GULLING is executive vice president and chief financial officer of
West Bancorporation, Inc. In addition he is chief financial officer of
West Bank and treasurer of WB Capital Management Inc., both wholly owned
subsidiaries of West Bancorporation. He is responsible for all financial
and accounting aspects of the company; chairs the bank's asset-liability
committee; and is a board member of West Bank and WB Capital Management.
Mr. Gulling joined the company in November 2001. Prior to joining West
Bancorporation, he was senior vice president and corporate controller
for Brenton Bank in Des Moines, Iowa. He started his career in public
accounting with KPMG and has worked for three other financial
institutions. He is a member of the Urbandale Community School District
Board of Directors, the Board of Directors of Friends of the Des Moines
Botanical Center and participates in various committees at his church.
Mr. Gulling is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants and
Financial Executives International. He holds a bachelor's degree in
