KENNETH I. MOCH was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and
a member of the Board of Directors of Alteon Inc. in December 1998, and
was elected Chairman in June 2001. Mr. Moch joined Alteon in February
1995 as Senior Vice President, Finance and Business Development and CFO.
He served as President and CEO of Biocyte Corporation (the pioneer in
umbilical cord blood stem cell collection and transplantation) from 1990
to 1995. Previously, Mr. Moch was the Managing General Partner of
Catalyst Ventures (a seed stage venture fund), a co-Founder and Vice
President of The Liposome Company (a cancer and infectious diseases
company), and a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and
Channing, Weinberg & Company/The Wilkerson Group. Taking a strong
regional focus towards biotechnology, Mr. Moch currently serves as
Chairman of the Biotechnology Council of New Jersey, as a member of the
Executive Committee of the New York Biotechnology Association, and as a
member of the Governing Body of the Emerging Companies Section of the
Biotechnology Industry Organization. He is a Founding Fellow of The
Biotechnology Study Center at New York University School of Medicine.
Mr. Moch received his AB in BioChemistry from Princeton University and
an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Profile
