JAMES TAYLOR JR. – THE BANC CORPORATION (TBNC) (TBNC)

JAMES A. TAYLOR JR. is President and Chief Operating Officer of The Banc Corporation and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Bank. He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Alabama and received his JD in 1990 from the University of Alabama School of Law. He served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of The Banc Corporation from April 1998 until September 2000. From June 1996 until April 1998, Mr. Taylor served as Vice President, Legal Services for MedPartners, Inc. (now known as Caremark, Rx.), a publicly traded healthcare company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. While at MedPartners, Mr. Taylor handled over $3 billion of complex financing and merger and acquisition transactions. From July 1994 until May 1996, Mr. Taylor served as outside General Counsel to Alabama National BanCorporation during which time Alabama National grew from $200 to over $800 million in total assets through acquisitions, internal growth and an initial public offering. From August 1990 until March 1996, Mr. Taylor was in private practice with Burr & Forman, LLP, in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Taylor began his banking career as a teller for the First National Bank of Ashland in Ashland, Alabama in 1981. He majored in English and Finance while at the University of Alabama. He worked extensively with the Emerging Issues Task Force of the FASB while at MedPartners on issues relating to recognition of revenues by physician practice management companies. He has served as President and on the Boards of various clubs and organizations in Alabama. Mr. Taylor currently serves on the Board of Alabama Bankers Bank. Profile
