LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT OF REAL-TIME APPLICATIONS – JOHN ROONEY – VIOLA NETWORKS

John Rooney, in his role as President of Viola Networks, is responsible for sales and operations throughout the Americas as well as worldwide business development and marketing. He has previously spearheaded the successful exit strategies of three technology startups: Soft-Switch, PTS and Quadritek. In his 18 years of experience in high-level sales management and operations, he has built world-class sales organizations for several leading companies, including Avaya, Lucent Technologies, Quadritek, PTS Learning Systems and Soft-Switch. Immediately prior to joining Viola Networks, Mr. Rooney served as Vice President, Northeast Region for Avaya, Inc., a Lucent spinoff. Prior to Avaya, he was Vice President, World Wide sales for the IP Services Product Group at Lucent Technologies, where he grew sales year over year during his two year tenure. He arrived at Lucent via the acquisition of Quadritek, Inc., where he grew revenues from $2 million to $20 million in 18 months, making it a viable company for Lucent to acquire. As Vice President of the Software Product group at PTS Learning Systems, he was able to grow revenues 196%. PTS has ultimately been acquired by Global Knowledge Networks, Inc. Mr. Rooney started his career in the startup software market in 1983 with Soft-Switch Inc.
