Water Supply & Wastewater Treatment: Dawn Kristof – Water & Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association

DAWN KRISTOF is President of the Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association (WWEMA), a Washington, DC-based trade organization that has represented the interests of manufacturers serving the water supply and wastewater treatment industry since 1908. Ms. Kristof began her affiliation with WWEMA in 1976, serving as Assistant to the President. She left the Association in 1979 to pursue her interests in government affairs, working as a Legislative Aide to the Washington, DC, office of American Can Company. WWEMA recruited her back in 1981 to serve as its Director of Government Relations and promoted her to the office of President in 1984. Ms. Kristof received her Bachelor of Science degree in Management from George Mason University (Fairfax, Virginia) and completed course work in the university's MBA program. She currently serves as a member of the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee, which advises the US government on policies and programs to expand US exports of environmental goods and services. Most recently, she has taken on the assignment of helping generate public awareness of the nation's staggering infrastructure funding needs for water and wastewater systems. WWEMA is a member of the H2O (How to Optimize Water) Coalition. Ms. Kristof is a former President of the Federal Water Quality Association (a member association of the Water Environment Federation) and is a proud member of its 'Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers' ' commonly known as the 5S Society. She received the 'William D. Hatfield Award' from the Water Environment Federation in 2003 for outstanding performance and professionalism. Profile
