ANTHONY A. CAPUTO is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SafeNet,
Inc. He joined SafeNet in 1986 first as an investor, then as a Director
with additional marketing and management capabilities in November of
that year. Prior to joining SafeNet, Mr. Caputo had more than 20 years
of experience in the computer industry. In 1982, he founded a computer
security firm, TACT Technology, as a division of a public company. After
securing outside funding through a $3 million limited partnership in
1984, Mr. Caputo managed TACT as a separate company until he resigned to
join SafeNet. In June 1993, he was named Maryland's High Tech
Entrepreneur of the year, an annual award sponsored by organizations
that include Inc. magazine, Ernst and Young LLP, and Merrill Lynch. He
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from
Iona College. He has served as an officer in several publicly-held
companies, including International Mobile Machines, Inc., and Comshare,
Inc., as well as Value Software, now part of Computer Associates, Inc.
He is currently on the Board of Directors of Oleran Network Solutions,
