ROBERT J. MAJTELES grew up in a family-owned business trading calf-skin, raw
materials for leather products. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from
Columbia University and a Law degree from Stanford University. Upon
graduating from Stanford in 1989, Mr. Majteles spent a brief period as a
merger and acquisition attorney at Skaddan, Aprs, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
After practicing law, he became an investment banker for two years with
Investment Advisers, Inc. Mr. Majteles then joined CAMAX Systems, Inc., a
mechanical engineering software firm, as the Director of International Sales
in 1991. Within six months, after more than doubling sales, he advanced to
Vice President of Sales. In 1992, he became Chief Operating Officer
overseeing Marketing, Product Development, Sales and Support. He became
President and Chief Executive Officer in June of 1994 through June of 1996.
During this period, CAMAX more than doubled in size, customer satisfaction
levels increased dramatically and the company embarked on a project to
develop next generation mechanical engineering tools. After engineering a
sale of CAMAX to Structural Dynamics Research Corporation, a leading supplier
of mechanical design automation software, Mr. Majteles came to work for
ULTRADATA Corporation in October of 1996 as President and Chief Operating
Officer. He has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since April
