NORWOOD H. DAVIS, JR. is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive
Officer of Trigon Healthcare, Inc. Mr. Davis received a B.S. from
Hampden-Sydney College, 1963 and a J.D. from the University of Virginia,
1966, The Executive Program, University of Virginia Colgate Darden
Graduate School of Business. He joined the company in 1968 as House
Counsel and held a series of management positions before being elected
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1989. Before joining the
company, he was associated with the Richmond law firm McGuire, Woods,
Battle & Boothe. His professional and civic interests include: Board of
Directors: First Union Corporation (Charlotte), Hilb, Rogal & Hamilton
Co. (Richmond), Consorcio International Hospital, S.A. de C.V. (Dallas),
