DAN CASTLES is President and CEO Telestream, Inc. A Telestream co-
founder, Dan used connections gained in 18 years as a TV industry
executive to accomplish his next career milestone, assembling the
Telestream team. "This was my first experience being directly involved
in hand-picking an entire workforce! Therefore, I naturally enjoy the
people here and respect them immensely." Under Dan's
leadership,Telestream has designed and marketed complimentary hardware
and software products to speed and simplify the process of shipping
video over the Internet. He sees the company occupying a unique market
position of being able to leverage competencies on both the applications
side and the infrastructure side. He says his favorite accomplishment
was successfully launching the FlipFactory software products, thus
significantly diversifying Telestream's product portfolio beyond
appliance-based products.Dan was named president of Grass Valley Group
(then a division of Tektronix) in 1994, following a 16-year tenure at
Portland-based Tektronix. At Tektronix, Dan served as Controller, and
