Fred Kogel (born in 1960), Chief Executive Officer and responsible for licence trading, legal affairs, human resources and TV entertainment, studied political science and law. From 1985 to 1988 he worked for Neue Constantin Film, initially as Bernd Eichinger's assistant and then from 1986 onwards as programme manager for all the company's radio projects. Fred Kogel headed the entertainment division at Radio Gong from 1988 to 1990. He managed the business operations of B.E.E.G. Medienprogramme GmbH in Munich from 1991 to 1993. Kogel subsequently became head of entertainment at ZDF and moved to SAT.1 in 1995, where he was programme and sales director. He was deputy chairman of the management board of KirchMedia GmbH & Co. KGaA from 2000 to 2002. He was responsible there for the licence management, television station group and show operations.
