KEITH THOMAS joined Zurich North America in 1993 and has held a variety
of management positions. He currently is a Senior Vice President and
oversees Zurich's Commercial Markets Profit Center, a unit that offers
management liability offerings to public and private companies. The
products he oversees in this market segment include directors and
officers (D&O), fiduciary liability, crime and kidnap, ransom and
extortion (K&R) insurance. Prior to joining Zurich, he had held various
D&O underwriting positions since 1990. Mr. Thomas has spoken at a number
of industry management liability functions including Professional
Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), Wyatt, ACI D&O Symposium and the
EuroLegal D&O conference and is considered an expert on the topic of
management liability, specifically directors and officers liability. Mr.
Thomas received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from
Columbia University. He is a member of PLUS. Profile
TWST: Would you begin with a quick update on where things stand indirectors and officers liability (D&O) insurance today?
Mr. Thomas: The D&O insurance market remains hard and
