ZACK BERGREEN's entire professional career has been in the information
technology industry. He founded Astea's predecessor, Applied Systems
Technologies, Inc., in 1979 and molded it into Astea International, Inc.
after the 1991 acquisition of its largest competitor, The DATA Group
Corporation of Burlington, MA. Prior to joining Astea, he held a number
of senior executive positions in the areas of product development and
general management with such leading companies as Gould Electronics,
Bechtel Corporation and General Signal. He holds a Master's degree and
a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of
Maryland. In addition to his current positions of Chairman and CEO, he
has served as Astea's President and Treasurer. He is often personally
involved with major accounts and deals with the senior level executives
at some of the most influential companies worldwide. His product vision
is to incorporate new capabilities that extend Astea's current offerings
and deliver innovative new solutions to customers. Mountain hiking and
