Alban D’amours – Desjardins Group

ALBAN D'AMOURS is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Desjardins Group. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Planning, Communication, Marketing; Senior Vice President and Chief of Development and Audit; Inspector and Auditor General of the Group; member of the Board of Directors of the Fonds de scurit (Security Fund). He has been a member of senior management for the past 12 years, President of the Group since March 2000 and President and Chief Executive Officer of Desjardins Group since the creation of the Fdration des caisses Desjardins du Quebec, on July 1, 2001. Previously, Mr. D'Amours was Deputy Minister of Revenue (at Revenu Quebec) from 1981-1987 and Associate Deputy Minister of Energy. Mr. D'Amours was a Professor at the University of Minnesota and Professor at Universit de Sherbrooke where he was Director of the Department of Economics for six years; Director of the Institut d'amnagement regional management institute, Director of L'Actualit conomique scientific research journal, and President of the Faculty Union at Universit de Sherbrooke. Mr. D'Amours has a Classical Studies diploma and a BA in Social Sciences from Universit Laval, an MA in Economics from Universit Laval (1965) and Doctoral Studies (PhC) in Monetary Theory, Econometrics and Public Finances at the University of Minnesota.
