Martin De Prycker – Barco N.v. (brussels: Barbt.br)

On February 11, 2002, Martin De Prycker was appointed President & CEO of BARCO n.v. Martin De Prycker joined Alcatel in 1982. From 1982 until 1996, Martin De Prycker held various management positions in Alcatel. From 1996 to 2000, he was President of the Internet Access Division, responsible for the development of the world leadership of Alcatel on ADSL and for the acquisition of Newbridge. He was appointed Chief Technology Officer of Alcatel and member of the Alcatel Telecom Executive Committee in February 2000. In this position, he was responsible for the company's key technology choices, the network strategy and the maximization of Alcatel intellectual property. In charge of the corporate research program, his mission was to guide in-house or acquired technologies from the start-up phase to a mature business. Martin De Prycker holds a Ph.D. in computer sciences and a MS in electrical engineering from the university of Gent (Belgium). He was teaching at Boston University from 1988 to 1992 and at Gent University from 1994 and 1999. Martin earned an MBA from the University of Antwerp in 1992.
