PAUL N. CLARK has been a Director, Chief Executive Officer and President
of ICOS Corporation since June 1999, and the Chairman of the Board since
February 2000. From 1984 to December 1998, Mr. Clark worked in various
capacities for Abbott Laboratories, a healthcare products manufacturer,
retiring from Abbott Laboratories as Executive Vice President and Board
member after serving previously as Vice President from 1984 to 1990 and
Senior Vice President from 1990 to 1998. His previous experience
included senior positions with Marion Laboratories, a pharmaceutical
company, and Sandoz Pharmaceuticals (now Novartis Corporation), a
pharmaceutical company. Mr. Clark received his MBA from Dartmouth
College, Amos Tuck School, and his BS in Finance from the University of
