Lance Urbas – Authentica Inc

LANCE URBAS is President and Chief Executive Officer of Authentica, Inc. He is a 25-year veteran of the technology industry and has led the strategic direction of Authentica since its founding in 1998. Mr. Urbas is an industry luminary who has been featured on CNNfn and was nominated for the Ernst & Young 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award. Mr. Urbas came to Authentica from AXENT Technologies (later acquired by Symantec), a leading provider of security products, where he was Vice President and General Manager of the Raptor Business Unit. In this position, he directed the business unit's product strategy, development and marketing initiatives. Prior to that, Mr. Urbas held several senior management positions at Raptor Systems (before it was acquired by AXENT Technologies), including Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technical Services. During his tenure at Raptor, the company was named the fastest growing software company in New England by Deloitte & Touche. Before Raptor, he was Sales Director at Veritas Software, a storage management provider, where he opened the first field sales office and created the indirect sales strategy for the company. Additionally, Mr. Urbas held several engineering, sales and marketing management positions at Convex Supercomputer Corporation, Tandem Computers and Data General. Mr. Urbas graduated summa cum laude from Hofstra University with a BS in Computer Science and later attended New York University as a doctoral candidate in Computer Applications and Information Science.
