Ralph Sheridan – American Science & Engineering Inc (ase)

RALPH S. SHERIDAN is President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of American Science & Engineering, Inc., of Billerica, Massachusetts. AS&E is a publicly traded company providing X-ray detection equipment and contract technology development for the detection of explosives, drugs, weapons and illegal immigrants as well as manifest verification for cargo. Mr. Sheridan's career has focused on developing strategies to bring new technologies to market and leading teams to implement these programs. His technical background ranges from engineering services for energy and petrochemicals to the development of digital technologies to control and optimize complex processes. As the President of his own consulting and investment firm, Value Management Corporation of Waltham, Massachusetts, Mr. Sheridan provided turnaround, startup management and investment banking services. Before starting Value Management, Mr. Sheridan was President and CEO of HEC Energy Corp. of Boston, Massachusetts Sheridan spent his early career in positions of business development and international operations of increasing responsibility and scope at W. R. Grace (1974-1976), Continental Group (1976-1981) and Combustion Engineering, Inc. of Stamford, Connecticut (1981-1986), culminating in his role as Vice President of Operations for the Engineered Systems and Controls Group of Combustion Engineering (1984-1986). Science & Engineering and a picture of things at the present

time?

Mr. Sheridan: The company was founded in 1958 as a
