Rick Clancy – Sony Electronics Inc

RICK CLANCY is Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at Sony Electronics Inc. In this position, he is responsible for communications and public relations activities for the US electronics business, including a wide variety of corporate issues, new product launches, marketing support, technology developments, third-party relationships, manufacturing activities, crisis communications and media relations. Mr. Clancy joined Sony in April 1990 as a Director of Corporate Communications, becoming Vice President in January 1991. He assumed his current position in November 1997. Prior to joining Sony, Mr. Clancy was Vice President, Corporate Communications at the investment firm of Drexel, Burnham, Lambert in New York. Prior to that he served in various client service and general management positions at Creamer Dickson Basford, a public relations firm in New York and Pittsburgh. Mr. Clancy has also held public relations positions at the investment firm of E.F. Hutton and the J. Walter Thomson advertising agency, where he began his career after receiving a BA degree majoring in Communications from Bethany College in West Virginia. Mr. Clancy is a past Chairman of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Communications Committee and is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America. Profile
