Keith Williams – Proteome Systems Ltd

KEITH WILLIAMS is Chief Executive Officer of Proteome Systems Ltd. and is the Chairman of Xcelerator Limited, a biotechnology incubator company located in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Williams has a B.Agr. Sci., (Melbourne) (University Medallist), a PhD in Biochemistry (Australian National University) and he was a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College, Oxford University, UK. He had research positions at the Australian National University and the Max-Planck Institute for Biochemie, Munich, Germany, before taking up a professorship at Macquarie University in Sydney. He built a substantial research program in protein science which culminated in the establishment of the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility, the world's first major national facility in proteomics. He trained 37 PhD students before leaving the university to establish Proteome Systems in 1999.
