David Clapper – Novacept

DAVID M. CLAPPER has served as President and Chief Executive Officer as well as a Director of Novacept since November 1999. Prior to joining Novacept he was President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Focal, Inc. Before joining Focal, Mr. Clapper was employed at various divisions of Johnson & Johnson from 1977 until 1993. He served as Vice President and a Board Member at Critikon, Inc., a division of Johnson & Johnson, from 1992 to 1993. From 1977 to 1992, Mr. Clapper held a variety of positions, including Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Board Member of Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a division of Johnson & Johnson, and Vice President of Product Management and Board Member at Ethicon, Inc. TWST: Could we begin with a brief overview of the history of Novacept,

and then talk about the present time?

Mr. Clapper: The company was founded in 1995 and was set up to develop a

device for
