LONNIE O. MOULDER has been Executive Vice President of MGI PHARMA, Inc.,
since September 1999. Prior to joining MGI, he was Vice President,
Business Development and Commercial Affairs and was part of the founding
management team of Eligix, Inc., a privately owned biomedical company
focused on developing therapies for cancer, organ transplantation and
autoimmune diseases. This followed 16 years of various sales, marketing,
product and operational management, and business development positions
with Hoechst Marion Roussel (HMR) and its predecessor companies, Marion
Laboratories and Marion Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Moulder's
tenure at HMR culminated as Product Group Director, oncology and anti-
infectives. He began his career in 1980 at Temple University Hospital as
a clinical pharmacist, responsible for all clinical and operational
pharmacy services provided to the medical research unit and intensive
care units. Mr. Moulder received a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from
Temple University in 1980 and a Master's degree in Business
Administration from the University of Chicago in 1996. Profile
TWST: Would you begin by sketching out the current vision of MGI PHARMAand then give us a few of the highlights in the history of the company?
Mr. Moulder: MGI PHARMA today is an
