JEFFREY P. BLACK was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of
Teleflex Incorporated in May 2002, and has been with the company for
more than 18 years. He began his career at Teleflex in sales and
marketing and held a series of increasingly responsible positions in
general management in the company's industrial and automotive groups.
Mr. Black is a strong advocate of new product development and has been
involved in launches of several that have added to the company's growth.
He has also been involved in the acquisition of several businesses that
added new technologies and strengthened the company's position as a
global supplier. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion
University in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed Graduate Management
courses at Michigan State University and Thunderbird American Graduate
School of International Management, and completed the Program for
Management Development at Harvard University. Profile
TWST: Could you give us a brief history of Teleflex and an overview ofwhat the organization is doing today?
Mr. Black: Teleflex is a growth company with a long-held strategy of
balance and
