KEVIN BURKE was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of
Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., in September 2000. Prior
to being named to his current position, Mr. Burke was President of
Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc., a subsidiary of Consolidated
Edison, Inc., where he had served since July 1999. Before joining Orange
and Rockland, Mr. Burke was the Senior Vice President responsible for
Con Edison's electric transmission and distribution systems and as well
as customer service. Mr. Burke has been with the company for 29 years
where he held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering,
law, nuclear power and construction. He served as Vice President of
Corporate Planning, Vice President of Brooklyn Customer Service and Vice
President of Construction. Mr. Burke holds an MS in Business Policy from
Columbia University, a JD from Fordham University, an ME from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute and a BE from Cooper Union. He is on the Board of
Directors of the American Gas Association, Association of Edison
Illuminating Companies, the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra, the
Brooklyn Bureau of Community Services, Electric Power Research
Institute, Inc., YMCA of Greater New York, the New York Botanical
