Allen Chan – Sino-forest Corporation (tre.a:tse)

ALLEN T.Y. CHAN founded Sino-Wood in 1993 and became Chairman and CEO of Sino-Forest Corporation in 1994. Prior to Sino-Wood becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Sino-Forest in 1994, he had been heavily involved in China projects for 12 years as project manager in the 1980s and management consultant in the early 1990s. Prior to his China years, Mr. Chan had experiences in the Hong Kong government's new town development and management programs as well as in the private sector managing a chain of floating restaurants in Hong Kong for four years. Mr. Chan is a well-known writer on culture, history and business subjects with books published both in Hong Kong and China. He regularly speaks in the local universities as well as to the public. Mr. Chan graduated from the Sociology Dept. of the Hong Kong Baptist College (now known as Hong Kong Baptist University) in 1978. Profile
