PATRICK CHEETHAM is the Chairman and Chief Executive of Tertiary
Minerals Plc. Mr. Cheetham has a first class honors degree in Mining
Geology from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, and is a
former winner of the Cominco (Europe) Prize for Mining Geology. He has
20 years' mineral exploration experience in Australia, Canada and the UK
and 14 years' experience in public company management in the UK and
Australia. Following an early career as a geologist with Western Mining
Corporation, where he was involved in the discovery of two gold mines,
Mr. Cheetham jointly founded Dragon Mining NL in 1986, taking the
company public in 1987. After several years as Joint Managing Director
of Dragon Mining NL, Mr. Cheetham founded Archaean Gold NL in 1993,
jointly with his wife Karen, and after taking the company public in
Australia in 1994 remained the major shareholder until that company was
acquired in a hostile takeover bid in 1996, following the discovery of
the Nimbus silver-zinc deposit. Archaean Gold NL was voted 1995 Diggers
and Dealers 'Best Junior Explorer of the Year.' Since 1996 Mr Cheetham
has been involved full time with Tertiary Minerals Plc, where he and
Karen Cheetham are the largest shareholders. Profile
