John Rooney – U.s. Cellular (usm)

JOHN E. ROONEY became President and CEO of U.S. Cellular in April 2000. Prior to joining U.S. Cellular, Mr. Rooney was the president of Ameritech Consumer Services from 1996 to 1999, where his responsibilities included sales, marketing, customer service, finance and call center operations. Prior to this, he was the President of Ameritech Cellular Service from 1992-1996, and the Vice President/Treasurer at Ameritech from 1990-1992. He also held executive positions with Firestone Tire and Rubber Corporation, including General Manager of its Mastercare Division. Mr. Rooney earned a BS in Business Administration from John Carroll University in Ohio and an MBA in Finance from Loyola University. Profile
