S. WAYNE KAY, Chief Executive Officer of Response Biomedical Corporation, is an
experienced healthcare/life sciences executive with extensive senior level
management experience in both entrepreneurial and larger companies. He joined
Response Biomedical Corporation as the CEO in the fall of 2007. He also served
as President and CEO of Quidel Corporation, Health Industry Distributors
Association, and Enzymatics Inc. Previously, Mr. Kay was President of SmithKline
Diagnostics, Inc. He also previously served as an interim executive advisor to
the management and Boards of several early stage companies, including a life
sciences tool company; an early stage company focused on development of a non-
invasive cardiac output measurement technology; a microfluidic biosensor
