NORBERT GLEICHER, MD is a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist who,
after a distinguished academic career as professor and chairman of a
major academic teaching department in late 1990 founded GynCor, Inc. He
is President, CEO & Chairman of the GynCor, Inc. As a renowned
scientist, Dr. Gleicher published over 200 papers in leading scientific
journals. Coupled with his research in basic biology and clinical
medicine, Dr. Gleicher as early as 1980 became interested in utilization
and cost control. Dr. Gleicher was the individual who brought the high
cesarean section utilization in this country to national attention and
was instrumental in developing strategies to reduce this rate, which
have now become national standards. Dr. Gleicher serves as CEO and
Chairman of the Board of GynCor, Inc. He currently also holds the title
of Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of
Illinois at Chicago, is editor-in-chief of two prestigious medical
journals, and is a member of several professional societies. Dr.
