DOUGLAS J. ERWIN is chairman and chief executive officer of RLX
Technologies, Inc. He formerly worked as chief executive officer of
PentaSafe from 1998 to 2002, Mr. Erwin grew the company from a small
security startup into a recognized leader in integrated security
management solutions. He led PentaSafe to a successful acquisition in
December 2002 by NetIQ Corp., an emerging powerhouse in systems
management, security management and web analytics solutions. Post-
acquisition, Mr. Erwin led NetIQ's security business until his departure
in April 2003. Prior to joining PentaSafe, he served as executive vice
president and chief operating officer of BMC Software, Inc., the fifth
largest software developer in the United States. While at BMC, he
oversaw tremendous growth in revenue and profitability, during which
BMC's market capitalization grew from $1.5 billion to $9 billion. Before
joining BMC, Mr. Erwin worked for Northern Telecom in various senior
management positions, including vice president, network services and
software applications. He also spent 12 years at IBM where he held
various sales and marketing positions. Mr. Erwin currently sits on the
boards of NetIQ and Houston Technology Center. He formerly served as
Chairman for the Houston Make-A-Wish Foundation and Target Hunger. Mr.
Erwin received a BA in Economics from Duke University. Profile
TWST: Can we start out with a history and a quick overview of thecompany?
Mr. Erwin: PentaSafe was founded in February of 1997. It was founded to
address the increasing number of challenges
