JOHN J. REIS is Chief Executive Officer of NFR Security Inc. Most
recently he served as President and CEO at Alexandria, Virginia-based
Halifax Corporation, a publicly traded provider of information
technology services, including information security, e-business and
government network system development. Prior to joining Halifax, Mr.
Reis served as the President and CEO of NumereX Corporation, a publicly
traded communications company based in Atlanta, which develops and
markets a wide range of information transport technologies. Before that,
he was President and CEO of MAXM Systems Corporation, a network
management software company based in McLean, Virginia. In each position,
he successfully increased the profitability of the company, extended the
business internationally, and/or negotiated mergers and acquisitions
that dramatically improved each company's position in its respective
marketplace. Previously, Mr. Reis served as a Senior Executive at
several global communications and information technology companies
including IBM. Mr. Reis is a U.S. Army veteran who served as a Captain
during the Vietnam War. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in
Mathematics with a Minor in Physics from the Polytechnic Institute of

TWST: Can we start out with a history and an overview of NFR Security?Mr. Reis: The company was founded in late 1996 by Marcus Ranum, a well-
known security industry figure who conceived of
