Punita Kumar-sinha – Cibc World Markets

PUNITA KUMAR-SINHA is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director of CIBC World Markets. She is currently the Fund Manager for the NYSE- listed India Fund Inc. and the Asia Tigers Fund Inc., managed by Advantage Advisors, a fully owned subsidiary of CIBC Oppenheimer, a division of CIBC World Markets. She is also involved in the development of other international and Asian products at the firm. Ms. Kumar-Sinha has over 12 years' experience in academic research and fund management in international and emerging markets. Prior to joining CIBC Oppenheimer, she was a Portfolio Manager in the emerging markets team at Batterymarch Financial Management, Inc., managing funds in the Indian subcontinent. She moved to Batterymarch in 1994 after spending approximately four years at Standish Ayer and Wood where she developed country allocation models and strategies as part of the international equity management team as well as researched investments in Southeast Asia and other international markets. While at graduate school, Ms. Kumar-Sinha interned at J.P. Morgan Investment Management and at the IFC's emerging markets index group. She also spent a year with the Latin American Department of the World Bank. Ms. Kumar-Sinha has a Master's and PhD in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering in 1985 from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and an MBA from Drexel University.
