MICHAEL J L SLATER is the Chief Operating Officer of Abbot Group Plc.
Mr Salter graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of
Glasgow. Joining Bawden Drilling in 1980, becoming Vice
President/General Manager in charge of all European activities in 1987.
He moved in early 1990 to be Chief Executive of Smedvig Limited in the
UK. He joined the Group as Director of Business Development during 1995
and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in January 1997. Profile

Mr. Salter: The Abbot Group has its roots in 1992 when it was
