MICHAEL P. HOLTZ is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Arlington Hospitality, Inc. Mr. Holtz has been with Arlington
for 17 years. From 1985 to 1988, Mr. Holtz served as the company's
Treasurer and Secretary and was promoted to the position of Chief
Operating Officer of the company, with direct responsibility for the
company's day-to-day operations in 1986. In 1989, Mr. Holtz was elected
President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Holtz has been a member of
the company's Board of Directors since August 1985 and in 1999, he was
elected Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Holtz is responsible for
the development and implementation of all company operations, including
hotel development, finance and management. During his tenure as
President and CEO, Mr. Holtz has succeeded in elevating the AmeriHost
Inn brand to national attention. The company transformed from a hotel
renovator and owner to a high-quality franchisor and developer under the
leadership of Mr. Holtz. Mr. Holtz was successful in realizing the value
of the brand through the sale of the franchise to Cendant Corporation in
2000. Mr. Holtz has over 20 years' experience in the areas of hotel
operations, management and renovation. Mr. Holtz has a Master's degree
in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree from Wright
