Jerry Pitts – Bayou Steel Corporation (byx)

JERRY M. PITTS has been a member of the steel industry for the past 26 years and an employee of Bayou Steel Corporation for 20 years. He was elected President and Director by the Board of Directors of Bayou Steel Corporation on September 21, 1994. Mr. Pitts has served the company as the Chief Operating Officer since June 7, 1991 and was Executive Vice President of the corporation from June 7, 1991 to September 21, 1994. From 1987 to 1991, Mr. Pitts served as Executive General Manager of the company; from 1986 to 1987, he served the company as General manager of Operations; from 1984 to 1986 he was superintendent of steel production; and from 1980 to 1984 he was General foreman of melting. Mr. Pitts worked in various management capacities related to production and process engineering at U.S. Steel Corporation from 1974 to 1980. Mr. Pitts has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Mississippi State University, 1974. He is a member of the Board of Elders, Harvest World Outreach Ministries; Board of Directors, Harvest Christian Academy; Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers, Iron and Steel Society; American Society of Metals (member since 1982); Association of Iron and Steel Engineers; Steel Manufacturers Association and Electric Metal Makers Guild, Inc.
