GEOFFREY R. AKERS is a Research Analyst/Fixed Income Securities at
Southwest Securities. Dr. Akers earned his Bachelor's degree in
engineering physics from the University of Maine and two Master's of
Science degrees in applied math and applied physics from Columbus
University. He also holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of
Connecticut and an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Dr.
Akers is an endorsed marathon runner holding 36 performance medals in
U.S. marathons, is on the U.S.A. Track & Field Listing/National
Directory of Distinguished U.S. Runners and is on the Board of Trustees
at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich, Connecticut. Dr. Akers is
