DAVID H. WATTS is the Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive
Officer, and a Director of Granite Construction Inc. A graduate of
Cornell University with a degree in Economics, Mr. Watts has held the
position of President and Chief Operating Officer of a company engaged
in international underwater services and construction, and was also
President and CEO of a heavy industrial engineering/construction firm.
He joined Granite in 1987 as President and CEO and has served as a
Director since 1988. Mr. Watts served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy
in an Underwater Demolition Team. Later, as a civilian, he received the
Navy Meritorious Public Service Citation. His current affiliations
include: Director, Wilder Construction Company; Director, TIC Holdings,
Inc.; Director and Past President, The Beavers; Trustee and Past
President, Monterey Bay Area Council, Boy Scouts of America; Past Chair
and Board of Directors, California Chamber of Commerce; Past Chairman,
