DOUGLAS S. FOREMAN is Group Managing Director Chief Investment Officer
U.S. Equities and Chairman Equity Policy Committee of Trust Company of
the West. Prior to joining the company in 1994, Mr. Foreman spent eight
years at Putnam Investment in Boston. At Putnam, he spent his last five
years managing institutional accounts and mutual funds for clients.
Previously, Mr. Foreman was an MIT faculty member, teaching celestial
navigation and ship handling, and a Main Propulsion Assistant aboard the
USS Merrill (D.D.-976). Mr. Foreman graduated with Distinction from the
U.S. Naval Academy, receiving a BS in Marine Engineering and an MBA from
Harvard University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Profile
CHRISTOPHER J. AINLEY is Managing Director U.S. Equities at Trust
Company of the West. Prior to joining the company in 1994, Mr. Ainley
spent two years at Putnam Investments as a Vice President and Analyst in
the Equity Research Group and then as a Portfolio Manager for the Core
Equity Group. Previously, he was Vice President, Equity Research Analyst
for J.P. Morgan Investment Management; Tax Supervisor for Coopers &
Lybrand; and also served as Director of Programming for the New England
Council, Inc. Mr. Ainley received a BA from Tufts University and an MBA

TWST: Have you made any changes in strategy over a volatile year?Mr. Foreman: No. We continue to do what we've always done. It has
worked. Last year was choppy, but we ended up having our
