Andrew Whiteley has served as Chief Executive Officer, President and
Chairman of the Board of Directors of InforMax since April of 2002. Mr.
Whiteley has served as a director at the company since August 2000. Mr.
Whiteley was previously the Vice President of Bioinformatics for
Amersham Pharmacia Biotech, Inc., a provider of integrated drug
discovery solutions, since January 2000. From October 1997 to December
1999, Mr. Whiteley served as Vice President of Amersham Pharmacia
Biotech's sequencing business. For a portion of the period above, Mr.
Whiteley also served as site director for Amersham International PLC's
Cleveland facility. From April 1995 to March 1997, Mr. Whiteley was the
head of Amersham International's group marketing. Mr. Whiteley received
Bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Nottingham
