Robert M. Langford

ROBERT M. LANGFORD now serves as Chairman and CEO of Dynamic Management
Company, LLC, an owner in the group that was the successful bidder for
the majority of the assets of Phoenix Restaurant Group. Included in
these assets are all Black-eyed Pea units and brand, as well as a number
of Denny’s restaurants. DMC currently manages restaurants representing
four different concepts in six states (Texas, Florida, Colorado,
Missouri, Nebraska, Tennessee and Wisconsin), with the Black-eyed Pea in
Hendersonville being a prototype for the brand. Mr. Langford began his
professional career as an Attorney, becoming a partner with prominent
law firms based in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1980, he began an
association with Shoney’s Inc., first serving in various legal and
functional capacities including development issues and involvement with
the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Food Service and Lodging Institute and the
National Restaurant Association. In 1985, he became a Shoney’s
franchisee. In 1990, Mr. Langford was named ‘Small Business Person of
the Year’ by the Lafayette, Indiana, Chamber of Commerce and
subsequently competed for the ‘White House Small Business Person of the
Year’ award. In 1995, Shoney’s, Inc., purchased Mr. Langford’s Shoney’s
franchise and asked him to join Shoney’s as Executive Vice President,
General Counsel and Secretary. In 1996, the Board of Directors of
Shoney’s, Inc., appointed Mr. Langford Senior Executive Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer. In October 2000, Mr. Langford was appointed
Chairman of the Board and CEO of Phoenix Restaurant Group, a restaurant
company overseeing 180 units based out of Scottsdale, Arizona. He led
the move of the company headquarters to the Nashville area in 2001.
Throughout Mr. Langford’s professional career he has been involved in
many community and church organizations including the Jason Foundation,
O’More College of Design, and the Middle Tennessee YMCA.
