JOHN M. LORENZEN, JR., is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer of PMI Group. He has 35 years of experience in finance and
accounting. He began his career with eight years at Arthur Andersen &
Co. before moving to VISA International/VISA U.S.A., where he was Vice
President and Controller, responsible for the company's US and overseas
offices. He held several other management positions, including Vice
President of Finance and Administration with Castle & Cooke, Inc., of
San Francisco, prior to joining PMI in 1985. A graduate of the
University of Michigan with BBA and MBA degree in Finance, Mr. Lorenzen
is a CPA, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants and the Financial Executives Institute. Mr. Lorenzen serves
on the Accounting and Finance Committee of the Mortgage Insurance
