JOHN R. KLOPP is the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Trust, Inc. a
publicly traded investment management and finance company headquartered
in New York City. Since its inception in 1997, Capital Trust has
established itself as one of the leaders in the field of commercial real
estate finance, having originated over $3 billion of mezzanine and other
high-yield investments. The company manages a series of private equity
funds on behalf of institutional and substantial individual investors;
the most recent in that series, CT Mezzanine Partners III, had its final
closing in August 2003 with $425 million of committed equity capital.
Prior to co-founding Capital Trust with Sam Zell, Mr. Klopp was a
Founder and Managing Partner of Victor Capital Group, LP, from 1989
until its acquisition by Capital Trust in 1997. Previously, he was a
Managing Director and co-head of Chemical Realty Corporation, the real
estate investment banking arm of Chemical Banking Corporation (now JP
Morgan Chase). Mr. Klopp holds a BA in Economics from Tufts University
and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School. He has served as an
Adjunct Professor of Columbia Business School where he taught 'Real
Estate Capital Markets'. He is currently a member of Pension Real Estate
