John E. Bailye – Dendrite International Inc (drte)

JOHN E. BAILYE, Company founder, Chairman and CEO, leads Dendrite International in addressing the strategic selling issues of the health care, cosmetics, over-the-counter drugs and consumer packaged goods industries. Mr. Bailye, who was responsible for developing the company's first products, envisions the company as a provider of solutions that help sales organizations adapt to and manage change. He recognized the potential of computerization to revolutionize sales force management and created Dendrite International, Inc. in 1986. He relocated headquarters from Australia to the United States in 1987. Mr. Bailye directed Dendrite International in the development of the first computerized systems that pharmaceutical sales organizations use to pursue and manage business relationships with managed healthcare organizations. He spearheaded growth of Dendrite International, Inc. from $250,000 in sales in 1986 to $78.5 million in 1997 with 600 employees in 13 countries. Mr. Bailye was named New Jersey's 1993 High Technology and Software Entrepreneur of the Year by 'Inc. Magazine' and Ernst and Young. Mr. Bailye received the Entrepreneur of 1996 Award from the Delaware Valley Venture Fund. In 1996 Dendrite was nominated Public Company of the Year by the New Jersey Technology Council at their first annual awards gala. He was again awarded New Jersey's 1998 Software and Technology Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young. Prior to joining Dendrite, he was President of Foresearch PTY Limited, Sydney, Australia. Mr. Bailye's memberships include: Board Member, Young President's Organization, New Jersey Chapter; Executive Board Member, Young President's Organization, International Chapter; Regional Board Member & Education Officer, Young President's Organization, Northeast Region; Board of Overseers, New Jersey Institute of Technology; Executive Committee Member, New Jersey Technology Council; Member, Regional Business Partnership; Trustee, Bloomfield College; Member, Corporate Advisory Board of New Jersey 'SEEDS' Education Initiative. He was educated at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, where he received a Degree in Commerce (Marketing), 1975.
