Jean Gattuso – Lassonde Industries (las.to)

JEAN GATTUSO, President and General Manager of A. Lassonde Inc., holds an MBA from the Universit du Qubec a Montral and a B.Com degree from McGill University, and has accumulated close to 20 years of experience in the food industry. From his first job in sales and marketing at Standard Brands in 1979, he quickly advanced to Marketing Director at Lassonde in 1987, and was promoted to his current position in 1998. Since 1990, Mr. Gattuso has filled the positions of Executive Vice President of A. Lassonde Inc., and its divisions, Greatvalley Juices and Lassonde Juices. The company's industrial infrastructure relies on six production centers (three in Quebec, two in the Maritimes, and one in Ontario) that are on the global forefront of technology in juice processing and packaging for the retail market. Trademarks include Rougemont, Oasis, Fruit, Premium Collection, Health Break, Graves, Mont-Rouge, and Bright's, Allen's, Orange Maison. In 1998, he received the Prix Performance Award presented by the Graduates' Association of UQAM Faculty of Management and in 1991, the Jeune Chambre de Commerce de Montral (the junior board of trade of Montreal) awarded him the prize for top manager of a large organization in the 35-and-under age category. As well, he is involved at various levels in several associations and organizations, including the Food Institute of Canada, the Association des manufacturiers des produits alimentaires du Qubec, the Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors, the Association de marketing de Montral, the National Juice Products Association (United States), and the Canadian Horticultural Council.
