JAMES D. von MAUR joined Von Maur, Inc. in 1993 selling shoes in
the Davenport store. He held management positions at various
stores; he moved to the headquarters in 1996 to become Vice
President of Stores and Operations. Mr. Von Maur was named
Executive Vice President in 1999, and President in 2001. Mr. Von
Maur worked for a year for Marshall Field and Nordstrom's stores
in Chicago. He has a Bachelor's degree in History from St.
Norbert College, DePere, Wisconsin. Profile

Mr. von Maur: We were founded in 1872 by my great
