JAMES F. PARKER, is Vice President and General Counsel of Southwest
Airlines Co. Effective June 19, 2001, he will become Southwest's Chief
Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is the
Chief Legal Officer of Southwest Airlines. He also currently oversees
the General Counsel department which includes properties, facilities,
technical services, safety and environmental and building services.
Prior to joining Southwest, Mr. Parker worked as an Attorney with the
San Antonio law firm of Oppenheimer, Rosenberg, Kelleher & Wheatley. He
also worked as Assistant Attorney General of Texas. Mr. Parker earned a
JD from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. He completed
