JAMES R. GIBBS has been Chairman of the Board, President, Chief
Executive Officer and Director of Frontier Oil Corporation (formerly
Wainoco Oil Corporation) since 1999. He was President and Chief
Executive Officer of Frontier from 1992-1999 and held several executive
positions with Wainoco from February 1982 to April 1992. Prior to that
he was Vice President/Treasurer at Geosource, Inc., from September 1978
to February 1982; Vice President/Corporate Development from January 1978
to September 1978. He was Senior Vice President, Texas Commerce Bank and
Texas Commerce Bancshares from June 1972 to December 1978. Mr. Gibbs has
a BS degree in Engineering, an MA degree in Economics, and a PhD in
Economics & Finance from Southern Methodist University. He attended the
University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. Mr. Gibbs was a
Member of the Faculty (A&S) of Southern Methodist University, and a
Member of the Faculty of Southwestern Graduate School of Banking (SMU). Profile
