JAMES E. BARLETT was elected Chairman of Galileo International Inc., in
1997 and has been President and Chief Executive Officer since 1994. Mr.
Barlett has more than 35 years of international experience spanning a
wide spectrum in the information technology industry. Prior to joining
Galileo, he served as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations
and Systems for MasterCard International Corporation, overseeing its
global program for innovative technology replacement, and was a member
of the MasterCard International Operations Committee. Previously, Mr.
Barlett was Executive Vice President of Operations for NBD Bancorp,
where he managed the redevelopment of core banking systems. He also
directed the development, implementation and operation of the Cirrus
International automated teller switching system, and served as Vice
Chairman of Cirrus, Inc. Mr. Barlett also was a partner with Touche Ross
and Co., currently known as Deloitte and Touche, managing numerous
international assignments. In addition, he serves on the Board of
Directors for TeleTech Holdings, Inc., and Korn/Ferry International.
Mr.Barlett earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the
